Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Odditorium Gatlinburg Tennessee

If you are ever in Gatlinburg be sure to check out Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Odditorium. You really can’t miss the building. It’s a sight with it’s large cracks and bright colors. It sticks out in the middle of Gatlinburg.

The entrance is something to behold even before going inside. There are statues that the kids just couldn’t believe we not real. There was an employee walking by that noticed my daughter’s interest and took his time to tell her all about this lady. Apparently she was a straight laced lawyer before becoming the inspiration for this statue. The employees were super nice.

Another statue I thought was interesting was this metal motorcycle rider. I love how all the different parts connect together to form this beautiful working art form. There was lots to check out such as the world’s longest chain of gum wrappers and tons of very interesting exhibits.

We all know about my daughter’s obsession with pigs. After her initial upset that this piglet wasn’t alive, she forced me to take it’s picture. There were lots of different animal oddity all with descriptions and informational plaques.

This is one of my favorite pictures from the trip. Not necessarily the subject because although interesting is still kinda strange looking. I just really like the composition.

This had to have been the tastiest artwork I have ever seen. Yummy gummy bear base face. Say that five times fast…

All three kids loved the giant light bright wall. They played with it for an hour creating a pattern of colors over the entire wall. It happened to have been raining outside (notice the messy wet headed children, we got soaked before going inside), so we just let them get creative. I love hands on things like this.

Bub found lots of things he enjoyed too. Such as this video of him that he could control on this HUGE screen.

Also they played a round a gigantic Operation. There was so much hands on fun that we could have spent longer than we did there. The kids had a blast in this room. From a magic mirror to a magnetic board to build their own twist-able gear structure, there was so much to do.
