#thinkoutsidethetoybox Week 3 Paper Bag Puppets

There is nothing more fun than a puppet show. If you could figure a way to incorporate water play into a puppet show you would have the ultimate in summer fun. We used paper bags to create puppets. I used to do this all the time as a child who was raised behind the counter of a family run grocery store. My kids loved it as much as I did.

Materials

Paper Bags (Large or small)
Crayons or markers or paint
Imagination, lots and lots of imagination.
Optionally you could use yarn for hair or buttons for eyes.
Any materials could be used. It’s a very open ended activity.

What does the child take away from the activity?

Creative art.
Imaginative play.
Creating a script and characters.
Preforming for an audience.

Step 1

Color your face and body on your bag. Let them make people or whatever they like. Let them go crazy.

Step 2

Have a puppet show!

CB had such a fun time making new story lines to go with these two puppets. They went shopping and explored the mall. They went to the beach. They took over the world and survived the zombie Apocalypse. They sang a song from some tv show. They danced with some pop star that I had never heard of.

These were two busy girls lol.
