Step One is the setup before your guests arrive. Layout your treats and decorations. Teddy Bear Tea Parties are the more the merrier so decorate away! We went with some pretty pink and white flowers and silver serving trays that showcase our treats very well as adding a fancy feel. The brownie tower was one of my favorite pieces. It is actually two plates with a silver candlestick in the middle.
For our treats we served these delicious treats from Sugar Bowl Bakery. I will say these were hard to keep for eating before the tea party. I found myself smacking my own hand to stay out of them. My favorites were the Madelines and the kids couldn’t get enough of those brownies. These had a very high end taste and the kids loved them.
Sugar Bowl Bakery Madeleines ––These French cake cookies pair well with toppings like berries, cream cheese, ice cream or any topping of your choice. Tasty desserts can be whipped up in a matter of minutes with these convenient treats.
Tea cups are a very important part to the teddy bear tea party. Everyone and their teddy should have a pretty tea cup and plate. Go for the real stuff, it much more fun and the kids feel so much more grown up. They don’t have to match. Every kid is different, every bear is different, so why not different tea sets?
As the guest arrive remember to greet each guest and their friends. It doesn’t matter if they bring a teddy bear or a baby doll or even their favorite stuffed whale…. Don’t be a snooty host, welcome everyone.
Also another big no no…. Dress Envy… Trust me, your dress is nice too.
Some of your younger guests might need some help in learning what they are expected to do…. Like not dump their “tea” in the hosts lap…
Also it is okay to allow the guests to serve themselves if they choose to…. Or don’t understand the concept of patience. Those brownies do look really good I don’t know if I would have the will power to wait on the host to serve either.
And don’t forget the number one rule of the tea party… When in doubt… Pinkie out!
Enjoy your Teddy Bear Tea Party!!!
