We have been snowman obsessed around here lately so alot of our ideas have been Snowman related. This one was an idea I had that I wasn’t sure would work. I was at the school house waiting for the kids to come out and just thinking about what I could do that day. This idea came to mind. The kids abandoned me for Camp a La Granny so I used this lovely public domain image instead.
This is a 3d Snowglobe picture, not sure what to call it so I call it a 3D Snowglobe Picture Craft.
It was really easy to construct! You know I roll with the easy crafts. And I do realize my pictures are horribly lit, I am working on getting things better in the lighting department because it seems all my time to do these is in the late afternoon after all the nice pretty natural light is gone. I have put an order in with my daddy for the building of a craft tutorial friendly light box. He is thinking it over.
Materials:
Cotton Balls for Snow (optional glitter can be added but glitter is outlawed in this house by my husband.)
Scissors
Popsicle Sticks
Plate Styrofoam works best
Pictures of your kids looking like the could be building a snowman…. I wouldn’t think they would HAVE to be wearing coats.
Clear contact paper ( I love this stuff)
Cut the middle of your plate out and lay in in the center of the sticky side of a piece of contact paper.
Cut your photos out and lay them inside the circle.
Add your snowman (the cotton balls)
Add your base made from 3 Popsicle sticks taped together.
This is the tricky part. Take another sheet of contact paper and place on top of the project. Press down on the outside edges only, all the way around. Cut off the excess contact paper leaving a small lip for the back and the front to stick together. Try not to let you contact paper fold or crease like I did. 🙂
And that is all there is to it!
This is so adorable!
