Summer Fun Toddler Sensory Box
It’s almost time for Summer. Summer around here may look a little different as we try to add more fun activities with an aim toward easily obtainable materials or simple projects. One of those ideas is this Summer Fun sensory box. All the materials in this box were picked up at the dollar store with the exception of the Kcups which are easily substituted for small plastic party cups. This box is designed to play to a few senses as well as add a little fun colorful play time.
What is included in this box:
Colorful sand. This particular sand came in six different colors and before it made it to this box they also used it to make sand art.
Plastic Gems – To go gem hunting. I picked these up in the fish supplies department.
Cotton Swabs- To clean the sand of the plastic gems – Fine Motor practice.
Colorful seashells- These were found in the flower department.
K-Cups or small cups. Filling and dumping are two things toddlers do best. The K-Cups recycled come with the added benefit of a hole in the bottom.
I buried the gems deep into the sand and it was the kid’s job to dig out each gem and clean it off. This box provided hours of fun for my little tot.
