Peanut Butter And Smucker’s Strawberry Jam Bites – Our Snackation
Thank you to Smucker’s for sponsoring this post but all opinions are 100% our own.
All too soon we will be facing the hustle and bustle of a new school year. There will be events, plans, activities… Time will become a scarce commodity. That doesn’t mean there isn’t time for one more Summer adventure before we sign off on this Summer. For me that means it’s prep time for the Summer ending adventure that is sure to make an impression and get this school year started off right. First thing is food plans. It’s off to Walmart, the ultimate in Snackation destination. Walmart has all the snacks the kids could possibly hope for and with prices that can’t be beat.
For this adventure, I am planning a small picnic in the mountains. The plan is a twist on an old favorite, Peanut Butter and Smucker’s Strawberry Jelly bites. In order to pull off this new idea, I headed to Walmart. The peanut butter and jelly aisle is easy enough to find and they have them side by side, just the way they should be.
I had to pick up a few other ingredients while I was there as well as all the paper products and picnic accessories. Good thing I was at Walmart, one stop shopping for all those items and I am out the door and ready to begin the next phase of planning for an adventure.
Although the shopping part is one of the funnest for me, preparing the food ranks up there as second in the preparation stage. I love to cook. The idea I have for this picnic is a new take on an old taste. I’m going to be using pancake mix to create a ball shaped treat. I will then fill said ball with Smucker’s Strawberry Jelly and finish it off with a peanut butter glaze.
First step is the pancake balls. I just made the mix as stated on the box. Simple and easy enough. I then added the mix to my cake pop maker. This made cute little pancake balls.
Using a knife I made a small incision into the ball. With the end of a spoon I smoothed out the inside cavity. Also using a spoon I filled the space with Smucker’s Strawberry Jelly.
In another bowl I made a mixture of powdered sugar, milk, and peanut butter and let it thicken a little before covering the balls with the mixture.
PB and J Bites were a deliciously gooey treat for our last Summer adventure of the year! P.S. Don’t forget the wet wipes!
WOW! do those look amazing! I wish there was a way to put the peanut butter inside! You know what…you could inject the peanut butter in when you pour the batter into the cake pop thingy. I’m totally trying this!!
