Minions are all the talk around here. Especially with the upcoming movie and an upcoming post we have been working on. My kids are minions obsessed!
Last night we made Minion inspired slime! We thought we would share this with you because it was such a fun project!
Actually, this slime was not intended to be inspired by the minions but due to the excessive nature of their presence it became just that.
Last night my baby girl asked me to make her some slime which is not an uncommon request as homemade slime or play dough are frequently on hand around this house. So I made her this beautiful blue slime that was such a pretty color of blue. Then she informed me she had wanted yellow. My mind reading skills aren’t as up to par as I had hoped. Anyway we made the yellow slime as well.
While making the two colors it occurred to me that we had just made Minion colors. So our project was then transformed into Minion inspired. I found a few little containers with lids and we have added a new party favor to up coming post!
This is an easy project that uses very few ingredients.
What you need:
2 bottles of Glue
Yellow and Blue Food Coloring
Borax
Water
Clear plastic wrap
Make your slime. I didn’t take pictures of this part because we hadn’t intended to even use it as a post at that point. It was just for fun. There are tons of DIY slime posts around and most of you probably already know how to make slime. You put the glue in the water and mix it all up… 🙂 Than you put a teaspoon of borax in water and mix it up. Then you mix the two together. Experimenting with the amount of Borax can change the consistency of the slime. More Borax = thicker slime Less = Sticky mess.
Put 5 to 6 drops of blue food coloring but 7 to 8 of yellow as it doesn’t show up quite as well.
We also added a layer of plastic wrap between slime layers in our container because we didn’t want them to mix.
I tried to draw an eye on the bottle with a paint pen because I couldn’t find a Sharpie. Sharpie would had done tons better.
And that is all there is to it!
