Counting Lightning Bugs Free Printable Preschool Math Activity
I’m never sure how to start a post about a printable. Sometimes I go with just random updates or gibberish about this or that but not really sure if anyone wants to read that so tonight I’m just going with the cut and dry instructions to this printable. This printable activity comes to you sponsored by lack of sleep, short attention span and a little lack of motivation. I have been working on the I Know My Colors Series. Actually I do have Pink almost done but I wanted to work on something else. Thus this activity was created. There is some prep work to this activity such as cutting out the different bugs and numbers. I also suggest lamination as they will last longer.
Instructions for suggested use (because you can always find other uses for these materials as well… if you do, feel free to share in the comments below of on social media just tag me with #miniaturemasterminds):
Print out the pack. There are four pages in all. You have the main page with the jar and number box, two pages of bugs, and one page with numbers.
Laminate the pages if you choose to do so.
Cut out the bugs and numbers.
Place a number square on the jar page inside the box.
Have the child find all the bugs that match that number and place them in the jar.
There are three bugs for each number; number, word, and counting dots.
Also Included:
I also included a page of blank bugs for counting the correct number of bugs inside the jar. You could slide the jar page into a dry erase holder and the child can write the number of bugs they count inside the jar.
